What ecommerce accountancy can cost

Firms that work with online sellers charge in different ways. Some of the published prices we found depend on turnover, the number of orders or the number of shops and marketplaces you sell through.

Draft: not yet reviewed by a practising accountant.

The short answer

Ecommerce accountancy can be charged as a fixed monthly fee set by turnover, by order numbers or sales channels, or item by item for each shop or marketplace. We found four firms that publish ecommerce prices. Three show a monthly starting price, from £24.50 to £129 plus VAT, and the fourth prices item by item. The packages include very different work. Four examples cannot show what is typical.

Ways ecommerce accountancy can be charged

Accounting software and the tools that link your shops to it may be included, discounted or extra. Ask which.

What changes the price

  • Number of orders or transactions, and how many payouts there are to match.
  • Number of shops, marketplaces and countries you sell in.
  • VAT: UK VAT returns, and any registrations or returns abroad.
  • Stock: how much you hold and where.
  • Who does the bookkeeping: you, or the firm.
  • Extras: monthly figures, forecasts and advice.

Examples of advertised prices

We looked for UK accountancy firms whose own website showed a price for an ecommerce or online seller service. These four did on 12 October 2026. They are examples, not a ranking or a recommendation, and they are in alphabetical order. Prices change, and the packages differ a lot in what they include.

We do not give an average. Four firms that chose to publish prices do not show what online sellers typically pay, and we have not found a reliable survey. Being in this table does not mean a firm is a participating firm on The Right Accountant. We do not check whether an accountant is competent, qualified or suitable for your business.

Before you agree a fee

  1. Which shops, marketplaces and countries does the fee cover?
  2. Is there a limit on orders or transactions, and what happens if we go over it?
  3. Are bookkeeping, VAT returns and software included, or extra?
  4. Is any VAT registration or return outside the UK included?
  5. Is the starting price an introductory offer, and what is the price after it ends?
